Celebrating More Sporting Options - Mr Baird's Blog
I would like to start this week’s blog by saying a big thank you to all you parents for getting back to us so promptly about each child’s shin pad and gum shield situation. Judging by some of the positive and excited comments and the smiling faces during our sports sessions this week, it would appear that the children have enjoyed their time doing sport this week.
That is in no small part thanks to you all for allowing us to organise the distribution of those needing the equipment so quickly and therefore facilitating the safe return of these sports. Indeed, it should now be the case that all children in Prep have one of each of those items or if they have not, will receive their shin pads next week before their hockey or football session. Thank you again for your help!
The children have packed a lot into their week and this has all been done with exemplary enthusiasm and sportsmanship. We could not be more proud! Please look at some of the photos of some of the Year 5 and 6 children playing football. I hope to be able to share some hockey photos with you next week!
As I mentioned last week, Year 1 and 2 were going to finish off telling the second half of the story of ‘The Gruffalo’ through dance and movement. Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a Star Wars yoga session this week too!
As I always write in the sports blog, if there is anything that you would like to share with me from your children’s outside of school activities, please do get in touch with me via firstname.lastname@example.org. I know that the lock down may have reduced what the children are able to get up to but I have no doubt that some will have found ways of partaking in sport or sporting challenges at home!
