Prep

Our Prep children, whilst still benefiting from the secure setting of their classroom, enjoy access to our more specialised teaching areas. These include a state-of-the-art Science laboratory, fully equipped IT suite (where each child has his/her own email address), Art and Design Technology suite, dedicated Modern Foreign Languages room and Music department which benefits from the addition of computerised music composition facilities. Learning is enhanced with the use of interactive whiteboards in each classroom.

Children at this level commence the thorough preparation for secondary education and as they progress, lessons are increasingly taught by subject specialists. Help and guidance is given regarding future schools and the children are prepared for a wide variety of entrance examinations and assessments.

As we start to see children developing, we are aware of each child’s attributes and aspirations. We are therefore able to structure each child’s learning more specifically. Additionally, children are encouraged to take responsibility particularly when they become members of the school leadership team. They are encouraged to use their initiative and are supported in their roles ensuring that this important aspect of growing up is given the opportunity to develop.
