Pre-Reception & Reception

The Early Years Department is structured into a number of different teaching groups as the children move from the Nursery to our Pre-Reception and Reception classes. As part of a larger school, our children are fortunate to benefit from excellent facilities, equipment and specialist staff whilst enjoying close relationships with experienced class teachers and teaching assistants.

The children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and enjoy a well-planned and resourced curriculum to provide happy and enjoyable learning opportunities.

On joining the Reception classes at the age of four, children continue to work closely with their form teachers in a "home base" whilst enjoying the benefit of some specialist teaching and access to excellent facilities.

The children enjoy music, drama, dance, PE and swimming with our subject specialist staff and French is taught from reception. From Reception, the children move with their classmates to the well-equipped Pre-Prep classroom block to continue their education.
