World book day at BGS
30th March 2010
Youngsters from Belmont Grosvenor School donned topical costumes to celebrate World Book Day.
With Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland just opened at the cinema, many of the pupils at the independent prep school on the outskirts of Harrogate transformed themselves into characters from Lewis Carol’s famous story.
There were Mad Hatters, White Rabbits, Alices and Tweedledums and Tweedledees – as well as a wide array of different characters from many of the pupils favourite books.
As well as dressing up, youngsters had ‘passports’ and visited different classrooms to hear stories from different parts of the world, including Australia, Africa, India and China.
And Year 5 and Year 6 pupils ‘buddied up’ with younger children to write personalised stories about the reception and pre-reception youngsters.
