Saturday 5th November U11 Rugby workshop at Giggleswick 2pm – 3.30pm

Our first rugby session of the season started in beautiful sunshine following the heavy rain throughout the morning. A dynamic warm up, some handling skills and 1 v 1 tack-ling got everyone ready to concentrate on rucking. The last half hour finished with a mixed twelve a side game. An excellent start to the season, everyone tried hard and learnt a great deal. I was par-ticularly pleased with the impeccable behavior and manners of all the boys. It was also nice to meet up with last year‘s games captain Eli Wright, who took us to the dining room for a well deserved sausage, chips and beans!

Belmont Grosvenor Year 4 Rugby Tournament.

On Friday the 23rd of September BGS Year 4 went to Bronte House to play a tag rugby festival. The first match we played was against St. Mary‘s. We played well and won 4-3, with Kit scoring all 4 tries. The next match we played was against Froebelian. Our defence was great and we scored 3 tries making the score 3-3. Our third match we played was against Bronte House. It was a tough match but we managed to get 3 tries scored by Kit and myself with Louis great in defence. We had to play Bronte House again and this time the score was 4-4. For the next game we played Richmond House, it was a hard match but we pulled through and the score was 5 -4 to BGS, so that meant we were in the FINAL against Belmont B team for the cup. It was a challenging match because we both wanted to win the cup. Our team played brilliantly both in defence and attack, fortunately we won 5- 3! Special mention goes to Louis, Toby, Archie and Alex for great defensive play and Kit for amazing running and the whole of the team who played really well. We ended with three wins, three draws and no losses, which was enough to win the tournament (and the Gold cup)!
