Friday 4th November U9 Football v Highfield

We went to Highfield school, they started with the ball and we got the ball from them, and Louis Trowell scored a goal. Highfield made a substitution, (my cousin) and he scored, making it1-1. In the last minute I scored making it 2-1 to us. In the second half there were chances but no goals so the final score was 2-1 to us. The whole team played well.

Special mentions go to Will King, George Beeley and George Ward for great football but to the whole team for making clean tackles and being strong on the ball.

U9 Football v Lyndhurst

On Monday 17th October the U9s played football against Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst won the toss and chose to kick off. It was a good match with us making some chances to score. William had some great runs with the ball. Toby and Archie worked well in defence and also made some great attacking moves. After some good passing between us, Callum put the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-0 at half time. The second half against the wind was hard and we defended well. Just before the end Vincent made a great save to keep the score 1-0 to give us our first win of the season.

U9 B Team Football v Brackenfield

On the 7th October 2011 BGS B team had an away game at Brackenfield. It was a really good match and the team played really well. The defenders kept the ball from going near the goal most of the time. We tried to score quite a few times but their defence was good as well. I managed to get one goal in so the end score was a draw at 1:1.

U9 Football v Froebelian

On Monday 10th October the U9s played football against Froebelian. BGS showed great promise with some great running from Callum, Toby and Will and a few chances went just past the post. Against the run of play Froebelian score two goals in the space of 5 minutes to go into the break 2-0 up. BGS came out in the second half showing great determination and support for each other. Vincent made a couple of good saves and Archie backed him up well in defence. Toby then scored a good goal. Kit then followed that with a goal soon after to level the score. After a lot of chances on both sides Froebelian scores the winning goal in the last few minutes. Great game, great team improvement.

U11 A team v Brackenfield

On Wednesday 12th October BGS Under 11's A team went down to the games field to play a match against Brackenfield. In the first half we played well it was a tie at 3-3 with goals scored by Will King, George Beeley and myself. In the second half we played fantastically with lots of passing and shots on target. Will King took a shot which bounced off a defender's face into the goal, which meant it was an own goal and a score of 4-3! In the last ten minutes of the match Robert Davies got the ball and scored a great goal, which smacked into the bottom corner of the goal taking the score to 5-3. We fought on through the last 5 minutes of the game, it was tough, but we managed to hang on to a great win. We were very happy with this result. Special mentions go to Robert and Edward Garnett for great defending, with the team overall playing very well.

Under 11’s Football Tournament

The under 11’s team went to Richmond House to play a football tournament. The first match we played against Westville we won 5-1 with Will King, George Beeley, Ed Garnet, Robert Davies and myself scoring. We were so happy with that result! The second game was against Heathfield. We drew 2-2, both goals scored by myself. We all played really well in this match playing as a team. They had lots of shots but George Ward managed to save most of them. The next match we had to win or draw to go through to the semis. We played Lady Lane, and at the end of the match the score was 0-0. This meant we were through to the semi finals. In the semi finals we were up against Froebelian, but unfortunately we lost 1-0. Overall, BGS under 11's played really well and should be proud.
