Music
Music plays a large part in the life of Belmont Grosvenor School. All pupils from Pre-reception to Year 6 have class music lessons where they are introduced to many different aspects of music including composition and music technology. Everybody is encouraged to participate at their level and all activities are focused on enjoyment and a sense of fun. Individual tuition is available on a wide variety of musical instruments and children can be entered for ABRSM examinations at the school. Many of our children enjoy music so much they take up two or three instruments in their time at the school.
The school has a number of Recorder Groups, an Orchestra and a String Group all of which welcome players of every standard. There are also two very accomplished and enthusiastic Choirs. Our Junior Choir takes pupils from the lower prep and pre-prep school and they have enjoyed performing at our school speech day and open morning. Belmont Grosvenor Senior Choir is made up of our older prep school children who are regularly asked to sing at community events in the local area. They have also gained notable success in the Harrogate Music Festival.
Our Pre-prep and Nursery school departments get their chance to shine through out the year at Harvest, Christmas Nativities and Assemblies. Giving them a real sense of achievement and building their confidence from an early age. They also offer great entertainment for our audiences!
