Drama

Drama at Belmont Grosvenor is designed to promote self-confidence in everyone.

Through weekly drama lessons, assemblies and plays, all of our pupils from the most shy to the most outgoing, learn to speak and to perform with great enthusiasm and competence. Whether it is a nursery nativity play or a full-scale prep department musical production, the children relish the applause and feeling of achievement at the end of a performance.

Opportunities are available for individual students to take LAMDA examinations in Speech and Drama. Our last sessions saw an amazing rate of 80% of candidates receiving the top distinction mark. Many BGS pupils were highly placed in very competitive classes at the Harrogate Competitive Festival, and our after-school drama club, ‘Curtain Call’ for Reception to Y6, has performed to great acclaim, both at school and at the Harrogate Theatre.
